Two days diving

Both today and yesterday were lovely weather and fortunately we welcomed guests in this good moment.

Yesterday French madam, Cathorine tried her first diving. She, already living in Hong Kong about 15 years and working for French chamber of commerce in Hong Kong, has half business and half pleasure trip to Okinawa. She will pick up her first time introduction diving at our Diving school Umicoza in a magazie of chamber of commerce.

Today I dived with Kerry and Jonathan, ALT in Okinawa main island and her younger brother from Perth in Australia. Talking of Perth, it's roots of my scuba diving history. In 1992, just after Jonathan was born??, I got Open water diver certification course there.

Aussie sister and brother were being excited about three Manta ray.

First time Manta ray

A happy new year.

Yesterday, the new year day, and today, second day, still quite clear blue water is continuing in here Ishigaki island, Kabira. The visibility is very good!! Yesterday, however, rough sea condition made us give up diving in Manta ray point.

Today the condition recovered and we tried it. The result was.........it's very good that three Manta ray hovered just in front of us, today's guests Yamada-san, Dominik, Paola and Amtonia. It's a nice a new year gift.

Not only Manta ray point but the sandy bottom point in first dive and the cave point in third, 50m visibility (exaggerated information??) welcomed us as well.

3 months travel

Fortunately the wave hight was just 1m in weather focast, so we departed from Kabira, our home ground. Guests were Mr. Kawase, one of our Diving school Umicoza frequent guest, and Mr. Stephane from France.

This Fremch gentleman breeds flowers in Bretagne, faces to Atlantic Ocean. He is care of 4,000‡u land by himself, and between April and November works everyday, Monday to Friday working in his land, Saturday & Sunday selling them in the market. On the other hand in the winter he has 3 or 4 months holidays, and now enjoys travel in Asian countries.

Damn it!

Today I dived with Russian couple Marina & Andrey. They had already tried introduction diving yesterday in Okinawa main island, so my instruction was almost unnecessary today. They were exploring in the blue water by themselves.

I mistook that the handsome & cute couple photo was erased!! Following is today's image picture by myself.

New business!?

Stella & Harry from Hong Kong tried their first time diving today. Of course they completed it successfully.

During our chatting on lunch, I got information from them that in Hong Kong Parrot fish and sea cucumber are expensive food stuffs. Especially, sea cucumber is prized for Chinese new year holidays. At that time in Hong Kong relatives get together and enjoy sea cucumber cuisine in family.

Can I start new business, because in Ishigaki many parrot fish and sea cucumbers underwater and Hong Kong is not so far......?? It's a joke.

Long time no see

Since November 28 after two weeks break (due to bad weather or no guest) I saw Manta ray today with Finn gentleman, Marco who had business trip to Yokohama and dropped by our Ishigaki island before going back to his home.

Before departure on the boat I asked to Marco,

'Today's sea condition is no-problem, so we can go to Manta ray point in the first diving. Do you want to go?'

'Anywhere O.K. for me, but I like big fish than small......' He replied.

Coming back to the boat just after glimpse of Manta ray from 5m depth in our first diving safety stop, I asked again,

'We were 30 minutes earlier. Try again here?'

'Yes, sure' He respond quickly.

Of course in the next diving we got Manta ray nice figure clearly as above.

"Thank you, Marco!! You had good decision, instead of captain Satoki."

Almost monopoly

Today two ladies, Misako & Jenniffer visited to our Diving school Umicoza. Their target is of course Manta ray, but not only today but tomorrow we have north wind. Unfornatuly we have to give up going to Manta ray point due to choppy conditions. In this season over half days north wind obstructs us from going Manta ray.

On the other hand in this season you have a good thing that numbers of divers visiting Ishigaki island are not many, each diving point normally is vacant. Today also we could almost monopolize diving points.

If you are tough against coldness, from now good diving season starts??

See you tomorrow!!
